I tried answering this the best I could but, to be honest I do not know. I’m not against those who are homosexual, I personal have really good friends who are, mainly because I don’t care who you are unless you have a good personality. As to answering your question I believe a good friend of mine has answered it the best she could on her blog here is a link :

Everything and everyone in the world is dependant on the Almighty lord.
example :- A sider makes its own web, but in order to make a web a spider has to eat. Hence it is dependent.
*sewa —> It is sewa, but look at the other person as god himself, not a family member, not a friend.
First of all I would like to say Thank You! to the bhenji who asked this question.
ੴ - ik Oankar
The question was does it mean to me, or what was the best translation I have heard for it.
Ik Oankar as we have all grown up learning means ‘God is one’, that the force is the same but everyone has a different name for it. Either call it Waheguru, Allah, Ram, God etc.
But when it comes to sikhi, ik oankar is more than just ‘God is one’.
੧ ← the ik or one
it means uniqueness, This number or letter (however you want to understand it) represents the nirgun aspect of god.
the Oankar
it represents the sargun aspect. It’s also understood as Brahma, consciousness, tangible things, and also time. Basically Oankar represents beginning of creation. The Sargun Form of god. (will make a different post on sargun and nirgun)
In Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji on Ang 929 Guru Nanak Dev ji writes in his bani Dakhni Oankar what Oankar is.
Raamkalee, First Mehl, Dakhanee, Ongkaar:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਉਤਪਤਿ ॥
From Ongkaar, the One Universal Creator God, Brahma was created.
He kept Ongkaar in his consciousness.
From Ongkaar, the mountains and the ages were created.
Ongkaar created the Vedas.
Ongkaar saves the world through the Shabad.
Ongkaar saves the Gurmukhs.
Listen to the Message of the Universal, Imperishable Creator Lord.
The Universal, Imperishable Creator Lord is the essence of the three worlds. ||1||
this bani in itself explains the concept of Oankar our guru.
hence why its IK Oankar there is only one. :)
in my understanding ….
ੴ → There is only one powerful almighty master who is in the form of the shabad guru (SGGS). In his nirgun form. He then made the world and he stays there in his sargun form. He resides in the world taking care of his subjects but giving dissolution when needed. He in his creation, is conquering every, little, thing.

if you were to ask this question to a more devout sikh then they would strictly say no. But in my opinion I would say its personal preference, I personally have recently stopped eating out. I can’t speak for others but I’m sure I know many who relate to me when I say, that even though the fast food restaurants might have vegetarian options, that doesn’t mean they change their gloves when they start preparing the vegetarian food. For example subway, they touch the meat and then with the same gloves they make your veggie sandwich, or chipotle same thing. I actually think its quite disgusting knowing that the hands that made my veggie sandwich at subway had residue of the meat that they touched before that.
So really its upto you if you want to eat fast foods, because yh what your eating in the end IS vegetarian.
Answer:
hanji that is true because the sangat is doing the keertan out of pure love for the guru, when you go to the smagams you feel the vibes in the atmosphere. Thing about many keertani’s today is that the ones who know raag keertan many of them show off alot and you dont feel it, many start singing the keys like sa re ga ma, as well as ahhhhhh. That is not gurmat way of singing raag. If you wish I can post a recording of the gurmat way of singing raag. plz do let me know :)

Answer:
haha no you didnt offend me :)
Yes that is true, from what I have heard or been told when akj keertan first cam about, the keertani would tell the sangat that we are about to do simran and then they would do simran. They would not do simran while singing the shabad.
If the bani/shabad is written in a certain raag, by maryada it can not be sung in any other raag. Per say if a shabads title says ‘Shri Raag Mehla 1’ , and your singing it in a filmi tune or raag Asa, by maryada that is completely wrong.
Answer:
Waheguru JI, I never said singing kirtan out of raag is good or bad. But yes I believe in bringing raag keertan back because our guru’s wrote our bani in SGGS in raag. It was meant to be that way. Akj keertan is in raag but not pure raag, akj on the most part is being played in Raag Asa, but when you go back to the shabads and read the titles, its always a different raag title, like probably raag kanrha, shri raag, etc. I can go on. One might say I’m hypocritical but I dont mind listening to akj, I think it helps me do more simran than I would normally do while sitting down normally. I actually love it, especially once I sit listening to it in sangat. Most of Bhai ANantvir’s keertan in AKj is in raag, the shabad soohab soohab is in raag, many others that we hear are not. THe concept of raag is to feel. Like raag Asa is supposed to be played during amritvela, the feeling your supposed to get once you hear the shabad played in this raag is hope, hence the name AAS meaning hope. If a shabad is played in raag BHairon, the feeling your supposed to get is a feeling of longing, seriousness and love. The best way to understand is reading translations of a shabad and then listening to that shabad in its proper raag form. The feeling comes to you naturally in result to knowing the meanings of the shabad. If you want I can post recordings of pure raag recordings along with the bani. I’m not one to convert anyone on their personal preference, its just the knowledge of our guru’s and understanding the Shri Guru Granth Sahib JI, because theres so much to learn about our guru ji, and how much people dont take into account.
Bhul Chuk MUaf Karni, HOpefully I havent said anything wrong, Please forgive me if I did
:)
Answer:
hmm I guess it’s personal preference so yh that’s cool :) classical keertan, raag keertan yes both same yet different. raag keertan is keertan sung in the way the gurus wrote in Shri Guru Granth Sahib. to go away from that is in my opinion wrong. But tuhadi marji :)
